【英語原文】

Matsue, July 13th 1891.
Dear friend Nishida:―

　Dr. Florenz has been so kindly treated by the girl=students of the graduating class of the Normal School,―nearly all of whom gave him some pretty souvenir,―that he is determined to make a prize-present to each of them. There are six girls in this class;―so he wants to obtain six nice little presents for them; and he desires to expend for this purpose: “about twelve or fifteen dollars”―to use his own words. I think he can probably do this for less money even,―especially if the prizes should be books. But neither he nor I can guess just what would be good to get for them;―so he asks me to appeal to you at once―“this very evening.”
　The Doctor wishes in short to leave the matter entirely to you,―if you will be so kind as to help him.
　―Regarding the visit to the Elementary Schools, the Doctor has positively determined that the day shall be the day after tomorrow (Wednesday morning). He is very much pleased at the chance to see them, and very grateful to you for your kindness.
　Hoping you will come and see us soon, believe me
